Dessau for Weill Fans I The Kurt Weill Arrangement
Kurt Weill, the famous composer of the Threepenny Opera, celebrated great theatrical successes in Berlin, Paris and New York. With the annual Kurt Weill Festival, the city honors the artist born in Dessau on March 2, 1900. Experience the incomparable flair when music associated with the composer is heard at very different locations in the city.
In addition to incomparable concert highlights, Dessau offers a wealth of Bauhaus architecture that you can visit during the day with the World HeritageCard.
In the reconstructed Moholy-Nagy Master House, you can experience an interesting permanent exhibition about the composer’s life and work under the title “Kurt Weill – a Citizen of the World and Dessau.” This Weill exhibition can claim to be the only one in the world.
Kurt Weill Festival from 28.02 till 16.03.2025
By booking a travel package, you automatically make a contribution to climate protection. For every package booked, the city marketing organisation donates a tree to the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald Sachsen-Anhalt e. V. (Saxony-Anhalt Forest Protection Association).
This organisation regularly plants new trees in the region in and around Dessau-Roßlau from the donations collected.
