World Tourism Day 2024

Inclusive tourism, the annual theme of the World Tourism Organization in Montevideo, is of course also considered extremely important in our city and is constantly being expanded. The “Travel for All” labeling system provides information on barrier-free routes and locations throughout the country. Thanks to the high number of certified sites, the city of Dessau-Roßlau bears the seal “Barrier-free certified tourist destination”. This is not only a benefit for people with disabilities but for all tourists.

The certificate guarantees that the individual needs of guests are taken into account. Whether small or large, young or old, everyone can feel at home here. Many hotels, restaurants and cafés, as well as other cultural venues, help visitors with different needs to find suitable offers.

Particularly noteworthy, in addition to the Bauhaus Museum built in 2019 with the second largest Bauhaus collection in the world in the city center of Dessau-Roßlau, is the section of the Elbe cycle path R1 – from Köthen to Dessau-Roßlau, and from here on to Wittenberg, certified as a barrier-free route since 2024.

This further emphasizes the aspect of sustainable travel, another inclusive argument that promotes the protection of the environment and all living creatures. Discover the beauty of the region by bike, with level access, special guided tours, special facilities without mobility restrictions or to support sensory impairments.
