2025 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss (son). The Anhaltisches Theater is starting the new year with a small cross-section of the extensive oeuvre of this ingenious creator of immortal melodies. Both well-known and unjustly neglected works from his pen will be performed: overtures, waltzes, polkas, operetta songs and marches. His father Johann and brothers Josef and Eduard are also represented with their own compositions. Even the namesakes Richard Strauss and Oscar Straus send musical birthday greetings to the jubilarian.
