Varied Advent programme and new call for entries for the 2024 Advent market cup painting competition.

The Dessau Advent market in the heart of the city opens its doors on 27 November at 4 pm with the traditional stollen cutting ceremony. Every day until 23 December, over 60 traders will be offering a wide variety of treats, creative decorations, special arts and crafts and much more. A large ice rink made of real ice is the highlight of the market and promises marvellous skating fun for young and old. Fairground rides such as the Ferris wheel and chain carousel are sure to get the hearts of many visitors racing. A colourful stage programme and a visit from Father Christmas round off the varied offerings.

Opening hours: Mon-Thu 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Fri-Sat 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sun 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Call for entries to the painting competition – take part, be creative and win!

Last year, the Dessau-Roßlau City Marketing Association and the organiser of the Dessau Advent market, Grill und Imbiss Merkel GmbH, held a drawing competition for the Advent market cup for the second time. The winner was 10-year-old Luka from Dessau. His fantastic Christmas motif now adorns the mugs at this year’s Advent market.
